2022 PTC Summer Ladder


Ladder Rules:

  • Each player in the ladder will be assigned one weekly ladder match on Sunday night, based on the current ladder standings and previous play.
  • It will be your responsibility to set up your own matches at the Club in Paris, Burford, or any other mutually convenient court
  • You agree to have your email shared with all ladder players on the list for purposes of contact.
  • Matches will be played to best 2 of 3 sets
  • In the event players are even at 1 set apiece, the third set shall be played as a tiebreaker.
  • Standard Tennis (ITF) rules apply.
  • The Leader in GAMES won takes the Win.
    • This means that EACH GAME COUNTS in your ladder match, so do your very best to win each and every game you can to achieve the best results in the ladder rankings
  • If the number of games is tied at the end of the match, the 3rd set tie breaker score will determine the winner (see below for scoring examples)
  • Each player should bring a fresh can of balls. One can is used for the match and the winner takes both used and unused sets of balls home.
  • Results must be submitted online by Sunday evening 7pm.

Example scoreline & scoring:

Tom vs. Julie (3-6, 6-4, (2-7)) 

This indicates that Julie won the first Set with a score in games of 6-3, Tom won the second set 6-4 and Julie won the tiebreaker 2-7.

Julie would increase her ladder score by 6+4+1 = 11 games, and would be awarded the Match Win.

Tom would increase his ladder score by  3+6 = 9 games, and would be awarded the Loss.

The Rare Tie – Aad vs. Brad (3-6, 6-2, (5-7))

Brad earns 6+2+1 = 9 games and takes the Win for prevailing in the final tiebreak.

Aad earns 3+6 = 9 games and takes the Loss

The Upset Win – Maureen vs. Jourdyn (4-6, 6-0, (4-7))

Maureen earns 4+6+0 = 10 games and takes the Ladder Win for most games won.

Jourdyn earns 6+0+1 = 7 games and takes the Loss, even though she won the match!
